On June 5th, three Hearing Dog teams and one Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) team received their diplomas at The Hearing Dog Program graduation held at The Sports Basement on Bryant Street. People and pooches enjoyed entertainment, food, raffles, prizes, and awards. Many thanks to Pet Food Express and Sports Basement for co-sponsoring the event. A special thank you to our Sign Language Interpreters for volunteering their time. The occasion was a festive and successful fundraiser. Congratulations to Kristin and Charlie, Wani and Esther, Kris and Luke, and Tom and Dolce! |

Puppy Love Parties Win Hearts
The Hearing Dog Program partied with old and new friends at three fun and exciting fundraisers this past February and March. Those in attendance helped raise money and awareness for our services and enjoyed the entertainment of 'drag show' performances by San Francisco's best. We thank the following bars and restaurants for sponsoring these three events: Aunt Charlie's Lounge at 133 Turk St., San Francisco, Stray Bar at 309 Cortland Ave., San Francisco, and Marlena's at 488 Hayes St., San Francisco.

Hearing Dog Program Celebrates First Graduation
The Hearing Dog Program graduates four hearing dogs!

The first graduation of The Hearing Dog Program was held May 11, 2009. Four Hearing Dogs and their human companions graduated that day: Banjo/Tristan Herkimer, Bounty/Linda Austin, Gotcha/Martha Hoffman, and Rebel/Meredith Alexander. The ceremony was held at the lovely California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, accompanied by a gourmet lunch cooked up specifically for our event by the chefs. A fun menu included dishes called Scooby Snacks, Puppy's Breath, and Kibbles 'n Bits. Celebrity movie critic and dog lover Jan Wahl hosted the program, and everyone had a great time!
